Down the rabbit hole we go……

Presley's Pink Princess Party

Presley's Pink Princess Party

Birthdays! Well, they're kind of a big deal to me. I honestly felt like we had been slacking the last couple of years so this one had to be good.

Both of our kids have summer birthdays. Presley is first with her birthday being at the end of May and Monroe is not far behind, just 5 weeks later.

This year Presley is finally at the age where she understands birthdays and knew exactly what she wanted. For the last few months she's been begging for a "Pink Princess" birthday party. I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty stoked! I mean what could be more fun for me than putting together a party fit for a princess?

If you know me, then you know I'm pretty much obsessed with all things party. What a perfect opportunity to work with some of my favorite in the  biz. Honestly I can say that this was one of the most special birthday parties I've thrown. One for the books.

Here's a breakdown of Presley's party (with links) and what will probably seem like way too many photos lol.

Lets start with the venue:

Have you heard of The Coop? When we were in LA, The Coop was one of the most sought after spots for birthday parties and open play. When we made the move last summer and I saw that we had a location here in ATX i was beyond happy. The Coop is one of the only "play" places you can throw a kids birthday party without all of the cheesiness taking over. Usually children's play areas are covered in the most harsh primary colors (way too loud to try and hide). The Coop is not only visually friendly, but they also have the option to pick party packages that incorporate unique decorations and high end party supplies (not the usual stuff you can pick up at the store). In our case, we did the work ourselves, but when it came time to set up, I seriously was blown away. I'm so picky but they knew exactly what to do and they got it done fast! honestly beyond impressed.

On to the tablescape:

Daydream Society makes some of the cutest and unique party goods out there. They also happened to make the move out to Austin last summer so it seemed meant to be. After a quick scroll of their website, I knew exactly what we needed. For our table we used a combo of the Daydream Society "Sweet Princess" large plates(the name alone had me), their "Frenchie Metallic" striped large napkins, and their ultra adorable "Sweet Princess" cups. We filled in the table with some other fun goodies and scattered some of their tattoos around for the kids to wear.

The dessert table:

My feelings on the subject? #1 They should exist at every party! #2 They can be easy to throw together. #3 They don't have to cost an arm and a leg.

For Presley's party, we ordered 2 cakes from our local grocery store H.E.B. One vanilla and one chocolate. I requested these be frosted flat with no piping/borders/decoration. I went online and placed my order at Fancy Sprinkles and voila! Cake!

A couple of weeks pre-party, I came across the cutest macarons on Instagram. The moment I saw that this artist (seriously... macaron artist) was located in Austin, I reached out. I knew I had to have them. OMG SQUEE makes the most epic macaron I've ever seen. She made a special order of Fruity Pebbles flavored, Disney Princess macarons that tasted even better than they looked. But thats not all folks, check out the Princess Belle, macaron CAKE!!!!!

I filled in the table with some rice crispy treats, candies, and cookies, but the macarons stole the show.

Entertainment:

I'm gonna be totally real with you, when Presley told me she wanted princesses to come to her party, I was skeptical.

We went on a Disney Cruise in November and when it came time for our princess meet 'n greets, she wanted nothing to do with them.

But she asked every day and we discussed it. She seemed ready.

Well then came problem number 2: Finding a princess company that could live up to my Disney standards. After a lot of research I landed on Lexi's Little Princesses

WOW is the best word I can think of to describe our experience. I was on the verge of happy tears watching them at work. Belle and Ariel went above and beyond. They greeted the kids and posed for photos. That was truly all I expected, but wait.... there's more. Apparently this was not only Presley's birthday party, but also her coronation day. They Presented my little princess Presley with her very own crown and wand. They worked Presley into a magic show and then each princess took a turn dancing to one of their songs with Presley. Oh and did I mention that they actually sang the songs? like ....legit Belle and Ariel singing. It was SO good. omg I'm getting sloppy writing this because I was just so blown away that I'm like AAAH.

What better way to end a party?

PARTY FAVORS:

When Monroe was little I was like "umm.. I'm not giving you presents for coming to a birthday party".

Well that lasted one whole year because by the time he turned two i decided to jump on board the goodie bag train. I did however decide, that I would never send kids home with something thats just going to end up in the trash in the next couple of days. Over these past 7 years I've come up with some good ones, but a princess party presented an opportunity I had never been given before.

Presley LOVES makeup. In the mornings when I get ready, I sit her up on my bathroom counter and we do our makeup together (It's mostly me doing my makeup and then pretending to put it on P).

It's a really special time for the two of us (aaaw bonding!).

I had been following Petite 'n Pretty on the grams for a while now and have been so impressed by what they do.

Petite 'n Pretty created a makeup line for girls that is not only safe, but age appropriate. The best part about it? It works on mamas too! I loved the idea of makeup that mom and daughter could both have fun with together. To me, these beautiful Petite 'n Pretty gifts were bonding in a bag!

Each girl went home with:

I'll repost the links at the bottom here for whoever is interested. As hard as it is for me to stop dreaming about this special day, I've got to get to work on the next one. Princess kisses to all!
